Our presenters, Rahul Sharma and Timothy Fitzsimmons, are experts in tax planning (both domestic and international) and tax controversy work, with many years of experience helping clients navigate challenging tax matters and disputes both in Canada and globally. Our Presenters:

Timothy Fitzsimmons is a partner in Fasken's Toronto office. He brings extensive experience in Canadian and international income tax and commodity tax, with areas of focus in audit defence, objections, litigation, appeals and dispute resolution.  As a leading tax controversy practitioner in Canada, Tim’s practice supports individuals and trusts, as well as a variety of industries including financial services, cryptocurrency, real estate, aviation, natural resources, transportation, health care, communications and manufacturing.

Rahul Sharmaadvises international and Canadian clients on a variety of tax, trust, and estate planning matters. He is particularly experienced with cross-border and international tax, trust and estate matters, as well as matters involving offshore or non-resident trusts with ties to Canada. Rahul also counsels ultra-high and higher net worth individuals, family offices, corporations, trusts and estates on Canadian income tax matters, including succession planning for closely held businesses, and tax disputes or controversy matters arising in the private client domain.  Rahul regularly advises both resident and non-Canadian trustees and trust companies on Canadian tax matters and is recognized as a leading lawyer in Canada for advising on international tax, trust and estate matters.
