Our topic and Speaker
Dr. Julie McIntyre, BA, MD, CCFP, FCFP.
After 30 years, Julie retired from her family medicine practice in mid-town Toronto in January 2015. Since then, she has offered, on a part-time basis, counselling in Advance Care Planning and End-of-Life issues. Currently, she is mainly involved with the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association in bringing the “Last Aid” course to Canada. This course is designed to teach the public the basics about end-of-life issues and help them become more knowledgeable and comfortable in thinking and talking about, and planning for, serious illness, dying, death and grief. She has spoken about end-of-life matters, including MAiD, Advance Care Planning and Last Aid to groups of seniors at retirement residences and other venues.
